Rosetta is a new independent foundry with a strong focus on multi-script typography. We are committed to promote research and knowledge in that area and to support excellence in world script type design. To date our library supports Arabic, Greek, Cyrillic, and pan-European Latin, and there is even more to come. Additionally, Rosetta caters tailored type design for corporate use. The Prague College of Design invited Veronika Burian to give an introductory workshop into type design to their 3rd year design students. By means of tracing pre-selected letters, participants first experimented with structural elements of lettershapes, such as contrast, proportions and stroke thickness. The resulting sketches were discussed and students continued to explore their own ideas they had developed.

The Society for News Design invited José Scaglione to lecture in the conference Postpapel that will be held in Buenos Aires on May 18. The conference focuses on editorial design for paper, web and mobile devices. Scaglione's lecture deals with the various roles of typefaces in the design of newspapers, and the challenges and possibilities related to new media platforms. More information and registration…

We are proud to announce that Rosetta fonts are now available to use as webfonts in two different flavors: webfont service and self-hosting.

Last Tuesday David gave last lecture of the Rosetta Indian tour in the city of Vadodara (aka Baroda). Baroda is the fourth largest city in Gujarat and one of its main cultural centres.
The ever-growing type family Skolar will get support for even more scripts this year. It will include Devanagari and Gujarati, in an extraordinarily large type system.
Rosetta lectured at the National Institute of Design (NID) in Ahmedabad and at the Typoday conference at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Bombay.
On 9 February, David was invited to Ishan Khosla Design studio at Haus Khas village in New Delhi to talk about type design and Rosetta projects.
Last year in January we started the Rosetta Type Foundry, endeavoring to improve the support for some of the world scripts and to release high-quality multi-script typefaces. It seems appropriate to look back after this first busy year, and also ahead at what we are planning next.
Neacademia has been updated to version 2 with more refinement and small caps working in both scripts.
We have updated our webfonts support page to provide all the information you may need to use our fonts on your web either via Fontdeck or hosted on your own server (aka self-hosting).
Skolar fonts in our library have been updated to the most recent version (2.5). This version includes extended language support and kerning and in the PE version a vast amount of Latin transliterations.
We are excited that three of our typefaces, Arek, Nassim, and Maiola, are among the winners of the international type design competition Letter.2.
8 Faces magazine conceived a limited edition of eight A3 (297mm x 420mm) artwork prints. David Březina designed the print #1 using his typeface Skolar.
Armenian is yet another script to be supported through our library. The new type family Arek by Khajag Apelian is a fresh new interpretation of this beautiful script.
